What Does Adding To A Losing Trade Mean To You?

in Blog, commodity broker, commodity rules, commodity trading, Free 1 On 1 Consultation With Michael Seery, futures broker, Michael Seery, options broker, Seery Futures LLC

What Is Your Definition Of Adding To A Losing Position?  My rule for adding to a losing trade differs from mainstream thinking because for this reason that if you buy soybeans and the trade goes against you adding to this trade would be adding to a loser, which is correct. However many traders won’t add to the soybean long position but they will buy gold or some other commodity without getting out of soybeans first.

When Do You Add To Your Winning Trade?

in Blog, commodity broker, commodity rules, commodity trading, Free 1 On 1 Consultation With Michael Seery, futures broker, Michael Seery, options broker, Seery Futures LLC

When Do You Add To Your Winning Trade? This has always been a very interesting question because it can create a situation of going from rags to riches to riches to rags in a very short amount of time. Many times I see traders abuse pyramiding or adding to positions with utter lack of any type of money management system in place and letting it ride which usually ends up in a complete wipeout of capital and sometimes even worse.

When Do You Enter A Trade?

in Blog, commodity broker, commodity rules, commodity trading, Free 1 On 1 Consultation With Michael Seery, futures broker, Michael Seery, options broker, Seery Futures LLC

When Do You Enter A Trade? What are your rules to initiate a trade on the long or short side of the market? I have been asked this question many times throughout my career and my answer is simply to buy on a 20-25 day high breakout in price on a closing basis only or sell on a 20-25 day low breakout to the downside also on a closing basis.

How To Invest With A Weakening Dollar?

in Blog, commodity article, commodity broker, commodity trading, futures broker

Investing in the S&P 500 and commodities can be a wise idea to grow your portfolio over the course of time, however there can be tumultuous times that can have your portfolio decline dramatically as in the case of the financial collapse of 2008. Those times are over and the S&P is right near its old highs and the Nasdaq composite is at 11 year highs and the commodity markets have rallied tremendously in the last couple of years.
