Why Are Consolidations Important ? Look At Cotton & Corn

in Bitcoin, Blog, Bonds, commodities, currencies, futures trading, Mike Seery

There are different theories about how long does a meaningful consolidation has to last before you enter a trade ? In my opinion I always want to see a consolidation that lasts at least 8 or more weeks before I would consider entering.

Bonds Lower As The Dow Hits 25,000

in Bitcoin, Blog, Bonds, commodities, currencies, futures trading, Mike Seery

10 Year Note Futures---The 10 year note in the March contract is lower by 10 ticks currently trading at 123/16 continuing its bearish trend as it looks like the Dow Jones Industrial Average is going to touch 25,000 today as that trend continues to roll as I think that will be a negative influence on bond yields in 2018.

Trading Theory--Risk 2% Of Account Balance

in Bitcoin, Blog, Bonds, commodities, currencies, futures trading, Mike Seery

What Does Risk Management Mean To You? I generally tell people that the reason people lose money in commodities is not due to the fact that they are bad at predicting where prices are headed, however they are bad when it comes to losing trades and refusing to take a loss which results for heavy monetary losses that are difficult to come back from.

Stay Short The 10 Year Note

in Bitcoin, Blog, Bonds, commodities, currencies, futures trading, Mike Seery

10 Year Note Futures--- The 10 year note in the March contract is down 12 points at 123/21 as I have been recommending a bearish position from around the 123/24 level & if you took the trade continue to keep the stop loss at the 125/00 level for another week as I want to give this market some room as I still remain bearish.

I Remain Bearish The 10 Year Note

in Bitcoin, Blog, Bonds, commodities, currencies, futures trading, Mike Seery

10 Year Note Futures---The 10 year note in the March contract settled last Friday in Chicago at 124/13 while currently trading at 123/16 as I have been recommending a bearish position from around the 123/24 level and if you took the trade continue to place the stop loss at the 125/00 level as I will give this more room than the 2 week high as I still think there is a lot of room to run to the downside in this market.

Do You Understand Chart Structure ?

in Bitcoin, Blog, Bonds, currencies, futures trading, Mike Seery, ommodities

What do I mean when I talk about chart structure and why do I think it’s so important when deciding to enter or exit a trade? I define chart structure as a slow grinding up or down trend with low volatility and no chart gaps.

10 Year Note Lower 5th Day In A Row

in Bitcoin, Blog, Bonds, commodities, currencies, futures trading, Mike Seery

10 Year Note Futures---The 10 year note in the March contract has now traded lower for the 5th consecutive session as I have been recommending a short position from yesterday's trade around the 123/24 level and if you took that trade continue to place the stop loss at 125/00 as I will give this a little more room than usual as we currently down another 8 points at 123/14 hitting a fresh yearly low.

Looking To Sell The 10 Year Note

in Bitcoin, Blog, Bonds, commodities, currencies, futures trading, Mike Seery

10 Year Note Futures--- The 10 year note is trading lower for the 4th consecutive session as I've been writing about this commodity for quite some time looking for a possible sell if prices close under the critical 123.29 level & if that does occur I will place the stop loss even higher than the 2 week high as I will place that at 125.00 risking around $1,100 per contract plus slippage and commission as the breakout could be occurring in today's

What Is A Pennant Flag Chart Pattern ?

in Bitcoin, Blog, Bonds, commodities, currencies, futures trading, Mike Seery

What Is A Pennant Flag Chart Pattern ? A technical charting pattern that looks like a flag with a mast on either side. Flags result from price fluctuations within a narrow range and mark a consolidation before the previous move resumes.
