Are Cocoa Prices Breaking Out ?

in Blog, coffee futures, commodity trading, cotton futures, futures trading, lumber futures, Mike Seery, orange juice futures, seeryfutures, sugar futures

Cocoa Futures--- Cocoa futures in the March contract are trading higher by 45 points currently at 1944 as I will be recommending a bullish position if prices close above the 1953 level while then placing the stop loss at 2 possible locations depending on your risk tolerance as the 10 day low stands at 1836 risking around $1,200 or under the contract low of 1804 risking around $1,500 per contract plus slippage & commission.

I Think Sugar Prices Have Bottomed

in Blog, coffee futures, commodity trading, cotton futures, futures trading, lumber futures, Mike Seery, orange juice futures, seeryfutures, sugar futures

Sugar Futures---Sugar futures in the March contract is trading lower for the 4th consecutive session at 14.69 a pound as I'm currently not involved in this market, but its interesting to me that we have now hit the 50% retracement level from the low which occurred on December 15th at 13.64 & then the high which was reached on January 3rd at 15.37 as we were in overbought conditions as now I think prices could head higher.

Have Orange Juice Prices Bottomed ?

in Blog, coffee futures, commodity trading, cotton futures, futures trading, lumber futures, Mike Seery, orange juice futures, seeryfutures, sugar futures

Orange Juice Futures--- Orange juice futures in the March contract settled last Friday in New York at 136.85 while currently trading at 138.00 right near a 2 week high as I had been very bearish this market in mid-December as prices completely fell out of bed, but if you are short a futures contract its time to move on as prices may have bottomed out in the short term in my opinion.

Cotton Prices Break 3 Day Losing Streak

in Blog, coffee futures, commodity trading, cotton futures, futures trading, lumber futures, Mike Seery, orange juice futures, seeryfutures, sugar futures

Cotton Futures---Cotton futures in the March contract broke a 3 day losing streak finishing up 61 points at 78.11 still right near a contract high as I think the recent activity was basically blamed on profit-taking as the commodity markets certainly look strong once again as the U.S dollar is still hovering right near a 3 month low.
