Precious Metal Futures-- The precious metals today reversed from early losses and gold and silver only to finish higher across the board in heavy trading in New York today. Gold futures finished up 9 dollars in the June contract to close around 1,681 an ounce while silver futures closed up nearly $.70 cents closing around 33.15 in the May contract. Copper futures surged today breaking through resistance to close up nearly 1000 points at 392.10 a pound with the next resistance level at 400 which could possibly be broken in tomorrow's trading session. Platinum futures were higher all trading session closing up $11 at $1,655 an ounce while Palladium futures finished slightly higher closing up only three dollars for the trading day to close around 657. The metals have bounced off of recent lows especially in silver and gold, however they are still stuck in no where’s land with very little trend at this point. The impressive thing about today's action was the fact that the U.S dollar was basically unchanged while all the commodities had soared such as grains, energies, and the entire precious metals sector and are looking like their bullish momentum might be back in place.
